ScienTra undertook and successfully completed the transport organization and emergency traffic regulation related to the opening ceremony of the new European Capital of Culture 2023 in the historic city of Elefsina.
The object of the study was the development of the necessary traffic regulations in the context of the opening events of the “2023 Elefsina European Capital of Culture” and their subsequent implementation.
The aim was the preparation of a detailed traffic operation plan under the special conditions that were formed in Elefsina due to the opening events of the European Capital of Culture programme. It included, inter alia,
- proposals to divert normal traffic,
- design of temporary signage,
- design of effective access to public areas,
- modifications to existing bus routes,
- parking management, and
- creation of new shuttle buses
